Just announced by Pressure Vacuum Level Ltd is a brilliant new leak detector which, positioned on the floor beside, say, a washing machine or dishwasher, sends an alarm signal if programmed to do so and turns off both the water and the power to the machine if it detects more than 0.5mm of liquid on the floor. EcoCooling have recently completed a project for Cambridge University Mechanical Engineering Department to cool their data centre.
 
The project was to consolidate a number of small server rooms into one data centre for the department. The Department had two requirements: - A low energy requirement reflected in a low PUE for financial reasons and the need to reduce the power consumed to enable expansion.
